Pair (2) Vintage Carved Gold Gilt Wood Swag Plume Wall Bracket Shelves Italy

Pair of large, vintage/antique, hand-carved and gilt wood wall bracket or sconces, Made in Italy. The beautiful wall shelves measure 16 1/2" high, 15" wide and 7" deep with the top shelf area in a half oval shape. Crafted in a neoclassical style with swag or plume, bead shape trim and ball tip. Gold leaf with a nice patina on the front, bare wood back and red underlayment showing on the shelf. Made in Italy stamp clear on the back along with the item number (matching). Metal hanging hooks imbeded in the section of wood that is the shelf. Holes that have been filled on the plume section where the sconces were additionally fastened to the wall (probably to make it steadily to hold porcelain or sculpture). Original condition, not restored - see photos for details. Fabulous pair of shelves to add that neoclassical touch to any room or entry. Large enough to hold a vase, urn, clock or large figurine.
