Pair of vintage 1980s, reticulated Blanc de Chine Lamps with cherry branch and blossom pattern mounted on black stained, carved wood bases. These lamps with white porcelain jar bodies were made, assembled and imported from China, following a long period in the 60s and 70s when the porcelain bodies of these popular lamps were made in southern China (Duhua), sent to Japan for assembly with other Japanese parts and exported to the US as Japanese products. As is typical with most of these Blanc de Chine reticulated lamps, this set has an original 3-way electrical switch system that allows the night light in the body to light on its own or in conjunction with the low and high settings on the main socket on top. All original brass plated socket, harp and finial and black electrical chord and 2-prong plugs. Each lamp measures 23 1/2" to the tops of the finials (base alone is 12" high and 6" wide at widest point) and the 3-footed carved wood bases measure 5" in diameter. In very good condition, with no cracks, chips crazing to the porcelain, some tarnishing on the harp and finial. Fully cleaned inside and out. Shades shown not included; top bulbs not included; nightlight bulbs included inside and working. See photos & video for details on condition. A beautiful, timeless pair of lamps for an elegant touch to a room and suitable for both traditional and modern interiors due to its classical Asian style.
