Tessellated Bone / Horn hand crafted Decor Desk Box

Vintage, hand crafted, tessellated bone covered or veneered decorative wood Box with removable lid and black velveteen lined interior. This very solid box with simple, modern lines measures 8" by 4 1/8" by 2 1/8" high. The artfully crafted bone tile exterior consists of pieces of bone that have been well carefully cut from 3/32" bone and matched to create a tight brickwork pattern as well as smoothed out with matching fill between pieces, creating a solid and uniform surface. A slight net-like pattern has been applied with brown stain and give the surface visual depth. In very good condition with no cracks, breaks or significant wear - see photos for details. A lovely box for styling a shelf or table, to use as a dresser box or on a desk to store office supplies.
