Vintage, signed, art glass paperweight with large controlled bubbles and multi-colored (yellow, blue & red) twisted glass sculpture inside by Adam Jablonski, now retired from his craft. This 3" (7.7cm) flat-bottomed spherical paperweight is an unusual example of the artist's work in that it encapsulates twisted movement in his work while many of his paperweights contain a single color, static element as the focal point. "AJ" signature etched on bottom. This piece is in very good condition with no cracks, chips and some very small scratches on the bottom from use. A fun, almost confetti-like explosion of color and bubbles that makes an upbeat, modern statement to a desk or to enjoy as a decorative sculptural element on a table or shelf.

Notes:
Adam Jablonski, born in Wilczkowice, Poland in 1936, is an art glass artist with a degree in glass technology who has been working with glass since 1952 and is one of the few former Eastern Block artists of his kind. He earned a worldwide reputation for both unique glass artistry and as an eminent crystal glass production engineer with many patents to his name. He is now retired and sold his studio. His glass studio in Wolka Kowsowska, Poland produced mouth blown art glass vases, sculptures, ornaments, bowls and paperweights in 24% lead crystal and each piece was hand-etched by Jablonski himself. As an innovative artist and due to limited resources, Jablonski built a furnace for glass making according to a design he produced himself and trained many new glass makers in its use.He also used a variety of techniques to create every conceivable color that he wanted to use in his work and invented new techniques in order to perfect his craft. Jablonski's work has been shown all over the world and he has won a number of awards. His work is in collections all over the world including the Corning Glass Museum as well as collections of the royal families of Sweden and Spain and the President of Poland.
