Vintage Danish Modern Louise Christ Frederiksen Decanter

Pre-owned, modern design, lidded glass Decanter with silver plate, removable rim and solid glass lid, designed by Louise Christ Frederiksen for Menu Design Store. This classic modern decanter measures 11" (28cm) high, 7 1/8" (18cm) in diameter around the bottom and 2" ( 5cm) across the top. Made of clear glass designed with a removable sleeve on the top rim, to allow for cleaning between the sleeve and the glass (often such pieces get dirty underneath and when close to where the drink is being poured, may impart foul taste and contaminate the drink). Louise Christ is a contemporary product designer, trained at the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen. With her own studio opened in 1996, she is known for designs using distinctive organic shapes and exacting execution, though most of her work is custom, a small selection of practical items for the home are available through design stores, mostly in northern Europe. A smart, classic mid century modern design which would suit any modern design aficionado or anyone appreciating practical and efficient design in everyday objects.
