Vintage German Wood Folk Art Carving Figure Oberammergau Hunter 8”

Vintage, mid century German Folk Art carved wood Figure of a creeping Hunter by sculptor, Leonhard Holdrich of Oberammergau, Bavaria. This had made figurine is done in the old world style of the Black Forest, depicting figures in attire typical of rural southern Germany before the turn of the century. The figure, with an unlacquered finish, is sculpted into a pose of a hunter on the scent with his rifle at the ready and a sack over his shoulder. The figurine measures 8" high, 5 1/4" wide and 2 1/4" deep. Marked on the bottom with an inked stamp that shows the mark of the artist, his name and location. This piece is in excellent condition, aged to dark wood - see photos for details. A lovely, well crafted figurine to enliven a shelf or table vignette.
