Vintage Limoges Castel France 22K Gold Blue Vanity Trinket Box "The Proposal" XC

Vintage Limoges Castel France, cobalt blue glazed porcelain Vanity or Trinket Box with 22k gold leaf etched trim and center image of a courting couple in 17th century fashion. Castel has partnered with Limoges since the 1940s to produce decorative house wares using Limoges produced porcelain pieces with their own decorations, thus the Limoges Castel France mark in 22k gold over the glaze on the bottom of the dish. This lovely round box measures 5" (12.5cm) in diameter and is 2" (5cm) high with the lid on. The interior is colored and glaze just the same as the exterior except for the lid and bottom edges which are unglazed porcelain.  This is one piece of the Castel collection which bears the scene called " The Proposal" and Limoges Castel signature in 22k gold front and center. Other pieces include dishes, vases, ashtrays, small clocks, pitchers and more. This box is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips scatches - like new and ready to gift as a vanity accessory or to box a gift of jewelry.
