Vintage Pair German Hand Painted Wood Candle Ring Wreath Mushrooms Birthday

Pair of vintage German hand painted wood Candle Rings or Wreaths, originally intended for birthday or Christmas celebrations. These cute candleholders each hold 10 small, 3/8” wide, Chime-sized Candles which have a burn time of less than 2 hours. A pack of 20 of these, new in their original box are included with these candle rings. These 7 3/8” diameter rings are painted red with details of little flowers and fly agaric mushrooms – a classically Germanic symbol of good times and celebration, especially during and after the winter solstice and the Christmas holidays. See notes below on Fly agaric mushroom cultural details. The wood ring is ½” high and a little less than 2” wide to accommodate the candle sockets. Original German store sales stickers on the back of each one. Purchased in Germany in the 1970s and brought to the US as souvenirs and newer used; Still in perfect condition. A charming set of candleholders to brighten a holiday table or to use on a birthday cake!
