Vintage Woven Seagrass Pyrex Casserole Basket Raffia Lined Wicker Straw Fruit

Two 1970s, nesting woven seagrass Pyrex Casserole Basket covers or trivets. These decorative accessories became popular as it hid the cookware and therefore allowed cookware to be placed right on the dining table for serving. In addition to the attractive wicker-like exterior and handles, the interior was lined with treated woven raffia, which made it easy to wipe clean. The outsides of these baskets were decorated with brightly colored strips of straw, embroidered into raised fruit and vegetable motifs on all sides, making them popular on spring/summer tables. These two nesting trays measure  long wide and high long wide and high. A lovely retro decor touch to any meal whether you use them for holding a Pyrex dish of food or as bread, fruit or utensil/napkin holders.
