Vitorio Splendore Old World Tuscan Landscape Print on Canvas Italy Fresco Art

Vintage, reproduction print on stretched and gessoed canvas of fresco painting of an Old World Italian Landscape by Vitorio Splendore. The work measures 16" (40.7 cm) wide by 8 " (20.4 cm) high and is 3/4" (2 cm) deep. Includes copyright mark on reverse. Vitorio Splendore is a 20th century artist from Bologna, Italy who spent much of his early career assisting masters in restoration of numerous Palazzos and frescoes in Italy. He later took his experience and skill and created many works using old techniques, style and motifs gleamed from his experience working on these old villas. In a studio in Venice, owned by TWS Venetian Paintings who own his portfolio of works, many of these paintings have been reproduced in smaller and more accessible versions, of which this is one. This lovely sample of the artists work shows a roman scene with an old bridge, road side chapel and typical Tuscan landscape elements, framed in Roman revival style trims and urn accent, all executed in the muted and organic colors of fresco painting. The print has been carefully applied to a lightly gessoed and painted (with slight distressing) thick canvas stretched over a wood frame. Ready to hang as is or can be framed. A nice small souvenir of Italy or for an Old World / Renaissance style lover to add charm to a small space or add to a gallery wall.
