Vtg Antique Victorian Art Nouveau Deco Floral Sash Pin Brooch Faceted Amethyst

Antique, Art Noveau/Art Deco, brass brooch or pin with lily of the valley flowers and leaf motif and faceted oval amethyst in bezel setting. Example of early, Art Nouveau "costume jewelry" that used brass before plated metals became more widely used and used machine made parts assmbled by hand to create wearable works of art even for those without the means to purchase the original artisan made fantasy pieces of the period. This lovely pin measures 2 11/16" (cm) wide and 2 1/8" (cm) high. Thick stick pin with hook in the back. No markers marks. Floral detail appears to be cast and attached to the buckle-like wavy edged back piece. A simple design that makes a modern statement. Stone is smooth, cobachon style, on the top with faceting on the back set in an oval bezel. In good condition with patina. Some scratches on the stone from use, as shown in photos. A lovely piece for a shawl, hat or just as a statement on a shirt or handbag.
