Vtg ITALY Micro Mosaic Blue Red Yellow Black White Flower Oval Trinket Fill Box

Vintage 1970s, Italian, oval Trinket or Pill Box topped with a micro mosaic of a multi-colored floral bouquet on a green background. Micro mosaics of this kind are hand made of tiny shards of colored glass, many leftover from the famous glass makers of Venice and other Italian locales. The box is made of gold plated alloy metal embossed with scrolling designs on the sides and bottom and embellished with a tiny rope trim around the lid and contains a white plastic liner. The lid opens on a matching metal hinge and has a metal snap lid closure tab. This charming box measures 2" wide, 1 3/8" deep and 5/8" high and measures 1.1 oz. In good condition, no damage or missing pieces with wear commensurate with age and use - see photos for details. A charming box for personal medications on a vanity or nightstand. Makes a great gift!
