Vtg Ormolu Electric Clock and matching NEW Picture Frame Bird & Dogwood Matson

Vintage Matson ormolu electric alarm clock and matching photo frame in 24k gold. Both pieces are part of the bird and dogwood themed line by Matson and bare the stamped Matson logo and model numbers on the backs and the Made in USA stamp. [Matson was one of the best know producers of ormolu vanity accessories in the mid century. The company adopted old ormolu techniques using alloys of copper, zinc, and sometimes tin in various proportions. Ormolu was first produced in the mid-17th century France and was used in mounts (ornaments on borders, edges, and as angle guards) for furniture and for other decorative pieces. The molten alloy was poured into a mold, allowed to cool, and then coasted with powdered gold mixed with mercury. Then it is fired to evaporate the mercury, leaving a gold finish.]
The working clock with alarm (both tested) measures 8 3/4" high, 5 1/2" wide and 2 1/4" deep. It has a gold chord with 2-prong gold colored plug. The picture frame has convex glass moire interior and maroon velvet back with easel stand and gold clips. It measures 6 1/2" high, 4" wide and 1" deep. The clock is in excellent working order and only has some small tarnish spots on the front under the clock face and has some tarnish spots on the back sections on the exterior - see photos for details. The frame is in NEW condition with the original tag. A lovely, Matson quality pair of accessories for an elegant bedroom, vanity or sitting area.
