Vintage 1940s, wood clothing Hanger with Advertising for the Elmwood Cleaners and Dyers located at 2928 College Ave, in Berkeley, CA. This now defunct shop was located on College Ave, by Ashby Ave., in the historic Elmwood area of southeast Berkeley known for its shops and restaurants and is still popular for such establishments today. The hanger with metal hook was embossed and printed with the Elmwood Cleaners and Dyers name and address and phone numbers. This shirt, coat or suit hanger (with pants rail) measures 16 1/4" wide by 7 1/4" high and 3/8" thick. In good condition with some signs of age and wear - see photos for details. A fun item or someone connected to Berkeley, 1940s northern CA history or design, to add to a collection or make an interesting display.
