Product Origin: Penny Beese produced the boxed paper doll/wooden doll set (which came with a book) and sold them in the 1998 Dollmasters catalog. Rarity: Only 750 sets were produced and assembled by hand. Background: The wooden paper doll design was created to honor her mother and grandmother. Her grandmother originally carved a Hitty doll from a broomstick in 1930. This is Hitty a wooden paper doll complete with her wardrobe of 12 dresses, 2 hats, and 1 shawl. She does not come with her pamphlet. She is in excellent condition with no chips, scrapes, or scratches. Rare 1997 Mehitable Hitty laminate wood doll and book set. Box measures 8 3/8” wide x 6 5/8” deep x 3” tall. Doll measures 7 ¾” tall on base.
