Bring a true-vintage Canon FD prime into a modern Sony E-mount workflow – upgraded for cinematography in our workshop. This is a spherical Canon FD 50mm F1.8 that has been modified to produce a clean, neutral oval bokeh highlight shape. The result is an anamorphic-inspired separation and background feel without the usual de-squeeze workflow: shoot normally, then add 1:2.35 black bars (or your preferred crop) in post for a wide, cinematic presentation.

Cine-friendly handling is the whole point: the lens includes a dedicated follow focus gear on the focusing ring for smooth, repeatable focus pulls, plus an 80mm OD cine lens hood with a practical 77mm front filter thread for quick clamp-on accessory setups and easy filter use on set.

⚠️ IMPORTANT “AS IS” NOTE (PLEASE READ)

The glass is in pretty good condition overall, but it does have light cleaning marks and minor fungus / wear. In our tests these did not show a visible impact on the final image, however due to the noted glass issues this lens is sold AS IS – no returns, no refunds. Please purchase only if you are comfortable with an AS IS vintage cine lens.
