This lens has been fully disassembled, cleaned, adjusted, re-lubricated and professionally adapted for Sony E-mount. The aperture has been de-clicked for perfectly smooth exposure transitions during filming, while a 0.8 follow focus gear has been installed on the focusing ring for precise focus pulling.

Unlike many vintage lenses that require additional adapters, this lens is ready to mount directly on Sony E-mount cameras.

The optical design covers full-frame sensors, making it compatible with cameras such as the Sony A7, A7R, A7S, FX3, FX30 (APS-C crop), FX6, FX9, ZV-E1 and many other Sony E-mount bodies.

The Olympus OM-System was introduced in 1972 by legendary designer Yoshihisa Maitani, who created one of the smallest professional 35mm SLR systems ever produced. The G. Zuiko Auto-S 50mm F1.4 became one of the flagship normal lenses of the early OM lineup and earned an excellent reputation for its compact size, smooth mechanical construction and beautiful optical rendering.

This version is based on the original vintage Olympus OM G. Zuiko 50mm F1.4 manual focus lens manufactured in Japan during the 1970s. It remains highly sought after today by filmmakers because of its classic cinematic character, gentle contrast, attractive color rendering and pleasing background separation.

Optical & Mechanical Condition

The glass is in average vintage condition. There are very minor signs of cleaning and several small scratches on the optical elements, which are completely typical for lenses of this age.

During our testing, these imperfections did not produce any noticeable effect on recorded images. The final two sample photographs in this listing were captured with this exact lens at F1.4 and F16, demonstrating its real-world performance.
