Up for consideration is a hand painted illustration of a 1967 Mercury Comet in
an "INVITATION TO ADVENTURE" compaign Showing Cowboys and Ranchers with a horse in Southwest setting. The work of art measures 10.75 by 13 inches more or less. The scene depicts an entourage of onlookers gawking at 2 door hardtop Mercury Comet in a setting that given the task and hand one would be inclined to see a more practical pickup truck. It is ingenous because it can target a variety of audiences...the car is being marketed to this demographic as adventuresome whereas to a Nothern audience the car is paired with rugged outdoors livestyle which in a sense is adventuresome also... so adventuresome by association...very smart... Overall dimensions are 10.5 by 15 inches. Purchased from the estate of an original Detroit illustrator who was active at that time. ...it is nicely done...remember this was probably not the final copy but a speculative piece used to pitch the Mercury execs on an idea...so Mad Manish...I have 40 works of illustrations from the estate...from the illustrator who did the work and worked for the firm at that time...too list here on ebay...you don't see these every day and they come from the right place.
