Large 50" Antique 19th 18th Century Religious Figure Carved Wood Sculpture

Up for consideration is a fine old distressed Continental Religious Sculpture. The piece stands about 50 inches in height with a width of 18 inches. It is slightly distressed with separations however both hands are present along with his fingers. The backside is uncarved and has an old hook of which I believe the piece was carved for a particular location and would maybe have had a safety chain to secure it in place. I believe it to be from the later part of the 19th century or slightly older. The base part is old but not as old as the sculpture. I am not sure who the fellow is however I am sure someone will let me know. Please see photos as part of the description.
