up for consideration is a hand carved Folk art sculpture, cup or drinking
vessel of a Man's head carved from a coconut. The piece looks to really have some age...with a combination of carved and painted features. It measures about 5.5 inches in height by 4 inches in diameter. He really has something to say with his big eyes and pleasant colorful smile. Things as such were made by sailors on voyages as well plain old Americans who were creative...likewise it is noted that these were made by prisoners sometimes. Not really sure about it's origins...but seems to fit in to other types of American Folk Art from about the Turn of the Century.
