N'Dume the Gorilla by Michigan artist Maureen S. Riley along with original Model/Maquette in plaster. The bust stands about 16 inches in height is cast in bronze is titled "Portrait of N.Dume" and signed "M.Riley" for Maureen S. Riley (1963-2016) of Michigan. The buyer will recieve both the Bronze bust as well as the rare original study model done by the artist used in the casting process. Maureen had a Studio in Pinckney of which we were able to purchase the contents of the studio from sketches to studies..models maquettes as well as a multitude of painting and bronzes. This particular bronze is is in excellent condition with no visible repairs. It has screw holes in the bottom of which if one wants to add marble or a wood base one can or enjoy it as such .N'dume "En-doo-may" (born October 10, 1981) is a male western lowland gorilla born in captivity and has learned a number of signs adapted from the American Sign language and has been at the center of controversial lawsuit regarding custody between Cincinnati Zoo and the Gorilla Foundation.
