Antique Tyrolean Folk Art Painting Wedding Chest Blue 1791 Hunting Gun Deer

$ 2950.00
Up for consideration is a very Scenic Painted late 18th Century Tyrolean
softwood 6 board Wedding, Dowry,Blanket Chest or Box. It measures 42.5 inches in length by 16 inches in height with a depth of around 16 inches. The form and date match as it is dated 1791. It has your standard 3 faux paneled front on the left a Fellow sporting period Garb fires a long rifle at leaping deer while a man spares his brother's life from his sword (Abrham, Isack) as labelled. With a few incredible trees...in the center a hand forged escutheon in the shape of a heart...and on the right side another Scenic display of hills water and ladders on trees probably denoting fruit and harvest... with the main focus being a Church...I mean the piece is sooooo folky that you couldn't copy that if you tried despite the naive hand in question. It really is a gem...It has old dry finish in powder blue with muted "salmony red" (is that even a word? It has your standard old beaten hinges that still work and even appears to be an authentic late 18th Century piece with the rectangular cutout ends and raised scrolled front edge board. It really is quite a piece and of course being European you really get value for your dollar as a piece from the Americas of the this age and caliber would cost a new car or more...If you have any questions or something to share please message me...watch the ice out there it is getting pretty tricky to navigate around these days...be safe Free Short distance delivery you know 3 or 4 hours one way anything over that may require a shipping fee.   Johnny
