Vladimir N. Muller (1887-1979) Oil Painting Russian 52" Romanticism as is

$ 6365.00
Up for consideration is a fine old Russian historical themed painting by Vladmir
Nikolayevich Muller (1887-1979). The overall dimensions are about 48 X 60 inches with the actual painting measuring a whopping 39.5 X 52.5. It appears to be some sort of Notability or Court scene whereas a man has stabbed another man with a sword in the heart whereas the lady is upon him as he dies and some sort of officer or military personal in armor gathers her up by the arm to pull her off the inflicted man. You can see that the elderly gentleman is not at all impressed with the emotional situation and continues to carry on with  his duties...whereas the other fellow in the deep burgundy garb is distinctly showing that he followed through with passion on a threat or revenge. The setting is a castle or extravagant estate with dark wood palatial furniture from the 17th or 18th century thusly historical depiction but done in 1911. Quite often these scenes are depictions of literary or real events.  The painting is extremely well done with deep rich palette however it does have some serious condition issues...there are 3 old repairs with overall light craquelure. There are stress lines running along the center support bars as well as along the edge of the frame. The hand of the old fellow with the armor has some issues of which only the fray of worn canvas is there. The painting doesn't look so bad in a dark room but once you bring it out into the sunlight one can see the imperfections...don't get me wrong most antique paintings show signs of wear and restoration when brought into the direct sunlight. I took a few photos in a darker setting so that one can see the quality of the painting without all it's condition issues. It really is great. Anyways take a look and see what you think. They really can do wonders with those who are gifted at restoring. There is plenty of upside to a wonderful painting as such if you can bring it up to snuff and get it to the right people or just enjoy it yourself.  If you have any questions concerns or just something to share please message me...Shipping must be arranged.
