Up for consideration is a fine historical Action Adventure illustration of Indians or Native Americans attacking a Fort...by listed Detroit Artist Joseph L. Kraemer (1872-1938). The piece measures 15.50 inches by about 18 inches in width. It looks to be an interior illustration probably for a magazine or boy's adventure or history Book depicting a historical event etc..It really is well done. It dates from about the early 20's.

     Kraemer worked in Detroit as an illustrator and cartoonist for the Detroit News. He was also active in the the preservation and encouragement of young artists in the area... he is noted as "autographing the beam" at "The Scarab Club" here in Detroit ... Likewise he was also the president of the Scarab Club Detroit (1931-35) a very prestigious undertaking. The Scarab Club is still functioning today.  According to archives He was noted as illustrating a few historical adventure books in the 30's and made contributions to magazines with illustrations and the likewise and a variety of other tasks associated with accomplished illustrators of the time era.  

     I have uncovered over 20  Kraemer illustrations in a portfolio from an old collectors estate recently so please keep an eye on my listing as you may be pleasantly surprised at the quality of work and talent of J.L.
