A total of 7 pages penned on Hotel New Weston stationery and is completely transcribed below. The original envelope is also included. (The internet image is not included). All items remain in VG condition. Feb. 15 Friday Dearest. My thoughts are with you almost incessantly + the "Paris" did not bring me a letter. She leaves tonight with this letter to you, I hope. Louisa tells me that in ans. to a cable you were not coming until sometime in March. I'm wondering why all these postponements. I never hear a word from Pierre but have written him yesterday thru the League Headquarters here + I've asked Jeanne to lunch Monday to hear what she has to say. You know I want to go over + expected to go back with you. You know your own business but why so late in coming! You must be suffering with the terrible cold. I know how badly your apt. is heated + it makes me very unhappy to think of you there. I hope you have been somewhere else, in a hotel or with friends who have a warmer house. (I've sneezing now, a cold blast from your apt.) So far I've escaped even a cold as last winter. Not a cold since I've been in America! New York has had a wonderful winter. No snow + plenty of sun but is sometimes hard to find. Do get your cheques cashed. The $50 which I sent for Xmas + the $25 which I sent to replace the one you tore up. They disturb my bank statement. Louisa has now begun to study law -- a correspondence course, so that takes up more time. She used to do puzzles or crypto ??? on the train from the newspaper, but now she studies. She is a wonder, poor dear. That little black hat you sent her is very nice. 7 size fits her. If you come, bring her a hat, + if you don't you could send her one by Helen Splane (who lent you her typewriter once). She is coming over in April + I'm sure would be delighted. She lives in Hotel Victor Emmanuel rue du Ponthieu, the same street as the Hotel Rond Point. Her hotel is directly across from the Florence Restaurant (Italian). My friend Mrs. Russell expects to be at the Hotel l'Universitie Mch 28. She expects me to join her + I have kept her to that belief but I can't make any plans until I know yours. Well, I've told you that before, haven't I. I only hope that you will do what you think best + whatever that is I will be pleased if you are. My earnest wish that both of you are well + not suffering. If you only could have come earlier + escaped all that cold. First the seas have been disturbing + now this devastating cold in Europe! Write a cable. Your devoted Mother. If you come, don't forget my little orders! * * * * * * * *
