2175----1836 Burlington Wisconsin murder story - NY Herald

2175----1836 BURLINGTON WISCONSIN MURDER STORY - NY HERALD This is an original issue of the NY Herald, July 8, 1836 featuring an story on the murder of a man named "Richardson." Although this was reported in several other US newspapers (see below), there was not much more info given.  I attempted to research further but to no avail. "Dr. Chester" is also referred to as intervening. I am sure this must be one of the earliest reported murders in pre-Wisconsin statehood (1848). This is the complete four page issue in good condition considering it's age. The Richardson story appears on page 1 column 2. There is a tear in the top left corner which only affects the inside top middle of the four pages. Expects some old water marks, wrinkles, etc. We have photo'd the article and various other parts of the newspaper for review. * * * * * * * * * * *
