Huge 51" Palatial Wrought Iron Yellin era Andirons Dragon Gothic Castle Spanish

Up for consideration is an exceptionally large pair of Palatial sized hand
wrought Renaissance Revival / Gothic/ Spanish Revival Andirons. They are just over the top in height...so yeah they are dramatic. They stand around 51 inches in height by about 14 inches wide by about 21 inches deep. Likewise they are heavy. If I was an auctioneer I would say that "You just don't see them around like this anymore... nor did you see them back then either..." The front sports a congenial pair of dragons with surprisingly fine detail... also scrolling elements with elements of interest in all directions... a spiraling main body with large foliage and large leaf type finials. All hand wrought by a real craftsman from about the turn of the Century or so. These are not signed but are in the style of Samuel Yellin a Polish American master craftsman and metallurgist who really set the standard for commissioned works for wealthy patrons in the first part of the 20th Century. These were originally painted black then someone painted them white...the previous owners used them as entrance posts heading into garden...they sat up on a bricked terrace...no doubt these command attention...they need to breath...and when you see old Film Noir in castle settings these are the type size and caliber that were part of the set. They are a bit worn in some areas but overall they are solid. Please understand andirons heading into the 30+ inch zone are sort of uncommon...anything in the 40's is absolutely crazy and 50+ inches is too much I just have to sit down for a minute...anyways I have hundreds of items for sale you can read the description of any and I really don't get excited but these are just one step beyond...thanks for reading this...
