up for consideration is a Grand Tour Watercolor Painting by Italian artist
Alberto Pisa (1864-1931). The painting without the frame measures 14 inches by 10 inches with the overall dimensions including the frame being slightly larger. The piece is titled "Venice" is dated "1900" and signed "A. Piss". It sports the original gallery tag from the "National Association or Artists" in Florence. There is also a sentence/title in Italian possibly describing the setting in greater detail. The piece really has a lot going for it. As a Grand Tour Painting it captures the breathtaking Architecture shown in around 1900 in Venice...with what looks possibly like a local with children seating on a bench in a calm moment. There are number of pigeons hanging around probably being fed and look as natural as can be in a serene nonthreatening environment...adding to overall setting. There is some foxing from years of being behind glass. Please see photos as part of the description. It appears the Pisa has illustrated a few books and there is a number of prints out there depicting a variety of street scenes in Britian at the time as well as in Italy. Please note I have 2 from Pisa all of which will be sold separately. Best Regards,JohnJohnnyCrystal Est. 1987
