up for consideration is a Dinanderie vase of 2 fish underwater with bubbles attributed to Jean Dunand (1877-1942) Switzerland/France. The vase measures approx 10.75 inches in height. It is Marked "France" on the bottom as well as a date "192_" with the last number worn. There is also some sort of possible decoration on the bottom please see photos...It depicts two fish one larger and one smaller fish swimming in opposite directions around the vase of which one is larger the other smaller. The scene is continuous so at one point the heads are facing each other then you can turn and follow the body of the smaller fish or the larger and then you meet up with the two tails... there are randomly spaced bubbles along the top shoulder. The fish are quite well done but as with many pieces the lighting patina and camera doesn't always want to work together to capture the full beauty of the piece. Although Dunand used Koi in some of his work similar fish is found on a panel from the Greenberg Collection that sold 12/12/2012 lot number 38. The larger fishes body goes from top to bottom...I will try and redo the photos and different angles. There are few dings up along the top shoulder but nothing significant.
